PAPAYA SMOOTHIE
In the Dominican Republic (where it is known as lechosa), papaya is a popular fruit that is frequently blended into a “milkshake,” which is similar to what we call a smoothie in the United States. Do you know the health benefits of papaya seeds? It helps in weight management, fights free radicals, regulates cholesterol level, keeps gut healthy and relieves menstrual pain.

Info About Papaya Selection and Storage
Papayas are native to Central America, but they flourish in places like Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Texas, and Florida as well. They’re normally available all year, although they’re at their peak in the early summer and late fall. They may grow to be up to 20 inches long, although the majority of those sold commercially are only approximately 7 inches long.
The skin of a mature papaya is red-orange in hue, whereas the skin of an unripe papaya is yellow. The flesh should be brilliant orange, but depending on the ripeness of the papaya, it may be yellow or pink.
Refrigerate ripe papayas until you’re ready to utilize them, which should be within 24 hours. If they’re still yellowish, even in a few splotches here and there, they’ll need to ripen for a few days at room temperature.
