What Is A Piña Colada Smoothie Made Of ?
The first version of the pina colada is supposed to have been invented by a well-known Puerto Rican pirate named Roberto Cofres (El Pirata Cofres) by blending white rum, pineapple, and coconut milk together in the early 1800s. The Smoothie version is typically made from ingredients, such as coconut, banana, and pineapple, which are then combined with either coconut milk to create a creamy smoothie . ( You can add other fruits ,we will give you some exemple in the next section ) .
- Pineapple (or frozen pineapple ) : The pineapple (Ananas comosus) is a tasty and nutritious tropical fruit. It’s chock-full of minerals, antioxidants, and other beneficial components including enzymes that fight inflammation and illness. It’s frequently cooked, grilled, or served raw.Pineapple and its constituents have been linked to a variety of health advantages, including improved digestion, immunity, and surgical recuperation.
- Coconut Milk : Coconut milk is a milk made from coconut pulp. It’s creamy and rich, with a lot of fat in it.Canned coconut milk is a common component in Southeast Asian, East African, Latin American, and Caribbean cuisines.Coconut milk is also available in a chilled carton as a non-dairy beverage; this is just coconut milk with water added. It has a neutral flavor and is naturally low in calories, making it a wonderful choice for smoothies, cereals, and baking. Canned coconut milk is best for pina coladas for a rich, pure taste.
What Fruit Goes Good With Piña Colada ?
The majority of the fruits that go into a Pina Colada are readily available at your local supermarket.Let’s look at some of the most popular pairs to get you started !
- Strawberries :While dipping a strawberry in shredded coconut may not be the best idea, the berries go great with coconut milk.
- Oranges : The mix of orange juice and coconut is fantastic.Orange will give our typical pina colada a pleasant taste boost without overpowering it.
- Limes : The lime juice just serves to balance out the richness of the other ingredients in the sweet drink, making it even more delightful.
- Bananas: Although bananas aren’t traditionally used in pina coladas, they properly sweeten this drink without the need for additional sweets. And, based on my trips, MOST Caribbean islands include bananas in their pina coladas.Fresh bananas work just as well as frozen banana chunks to give this smoothie a creamy, frozen touch.
